Panasonic Planning To Buy AI Companies And Launch New Age Devices

Panasonic India is reportedly in talks with AI specializing organizations as it plans to incorporate their artificial intelligence and Machine learning technologies into its future mobile devices. There are reports of Panasonic’s venture that would acquire companies with related technologies within a span of 6 to 9 months.

This is considerably a very intelligent move by Panasonic as it could put the company up in the technology market. Rival companies would most definitely take a beating with Panasonic’s AI efforts. Smartphone will be future readied in spite of the market getting overcrowded.

Industry sources have revealed that Panasonic has already kept aside a sum of $10 million to initiate its process of merger and acquisition followed by development of this technology and Smartphone integration. According to Pankaj Rana, head of mobility division, India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa at Panasonic, “…we see progress on this front and things go in right direction… Some part of this budget has been generated from the India business, while some portion has been allocated from Japan…”

The technology team of Panasonic is all set to make their presence felt in Silicon Valley soon. New products will be ready within 9 to 12 months. If we are to search for its current competition we can only be able to find Nextbit (makers of Robin Smartphone), a US-based crowd-funded startup which has started using in-built artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies in their Smartphone. This is the only global level of competition in the field of AI for Panasonic.

Lot of its AI technology capabilities will reportedly be outsourced. Panasonic’s current move is an extremely strategic one as the mobile phone sector will be stirred up. “AI is the future of Panasonic. We want to integrate all future technologies based on AI,” added Mr. Rana.

Panasonic is also planning to extend its business in the internet sector. Diversifying its products in the ‘Internet of Things’ sector will include launching of products in the home automation and personal healthcare space. Home automation will reportedly be its initial focus since Panasonic is identified by consumers as a consumer durable company. There will be home automation included in a wide range of appliances in lighting, security and surveillance.

Panasonic has also moved forward by having talks with various organizations in the personal healthcare front. It is reportedly searching for partners who are creating products like Smart thermometer and smart blood pressure meter. There are plans to incorporate these technologies in its mobile devices.

Initially all its market tests will be carried out with outsourced products before positioning itself firmly in the marketplace.
